Moving-day

MOVINGDAY.jpg

Moving-day is a short film previsualisation piece, following the perspective of a young child as their world is boxed up in front of them.

There is no dramatic underlying story of why they're moving, but simply following the child as they observe what's around them.

During this project I was responsible for animation, cameras and lighting.

During the creation I was responsible for creating the scene, lighting and cameras. Additionally, I had considered using resources such as mixamo for additional animations (didn't get to use that much though since the bulk of the animation focusses upon a leaf)

During this project I tried to review the animation in its (then) current state on full-screen to ensure the camera movement/speed made sense of the shot.

Moving-day initially started from a study from the opening shot of Forrest Gump that had used a feather as a focal point. In turn I had decided to used a leaf dancing in the wind since I wanted to incorporate the imagery associated with the changing of seasons, as to reflect the approaching new chapter of the child's story.
